Lautaro Martinez will in fact remain with the Argentine national team for a few more days training before heading back to Milan, where he will arrive on Sunday, according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Argentine FA announced that the young striker would play no part in either of the upcoming friendlies with Guatemala and Colombia due to an injury from his calf and gave the impression that he would be leaving the camp immediately to return to Milan.
Lautaro was resigned to remaining on the bench during the 3-0 victory over Bologna at the weekend due to his injury believed to have been picked up in the warm-up.
Inter captain Mauro Icardi too pulled up and then watched the match from the stands. He, like Martinez, went to international duty despite injury. He is currently training separately to the rest of his Seleccion teammates and it is hoped that he will be fit to play in the second friendly with Colombia.
