In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia has urged that he and his teammates must improve on their faltering start to the campaign if they want to succeed this season.

“We have to improve after our first few games and prepare ourselves for some important games coming up. We can take a maximum of six points off Juve but we need more than that if we want to go far.”

The 30-year-old centre-back then cast his eye toward Inter’s long awaited return to the Champions League and shared his excitement.

“The Champions League is a a return that I have been waiting to make for a long time. We have achieved a crucial objective for a project that must keep going for years to come. I am happy to be back in it. It will be nice to face some great teams, and we will go for everything with calmness.”
