An elated Stefan de Vrij spoke with Inter TV after Inter’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur and believes the result could be the turning point for the Nerazzurri.

“After such a victory there is so much emotion, this is an unforgettable evening. It is great to win and do so at the last breath. I connected with the ball but it was not enough to put it in the net, luckily Vecino was there to do it.”

The Dutchman then spoke on coming up against Harry Kane, who Inter managed to tame.

“We knew he was very strong but we defended well, showing our experience and we prepared well for it.”

He concluded the interview by discussing the idea of this result acting as a turning point for them.

“This may be the turning point for us but we have to prove it in the league too. On Saturday a tough match awaits us on a difficult pitch and we hope to do well.”
