Mauro Icardi: “I Arrived At Inter As A Kid, These Colors Have Given Me A Lot”

Inter Argentinian striker Mauro Icardi could only watch the game against Parma last Saturday from the stands due to an injury.

Today marks the day when Inter finally returns to the Europe’s elite club competition, the UEFA Champions League as the Nerazzurri host Premier League side Tottenham at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district with kick.off scheduled for 18.55 CET.

In the match program distributed by Inter today ahead of the match Inter captain Icardi releases a statement praising the club stating that: “When I came to Inter I was a kid, now I have grown a lot both as a player and as a person. These colors have given me so much and my daughters are always singing our hymn.”

In conclusion Icardi was asked who his idols are as well as what he thinks about the city of Milano: “Gabriel Batistuta and Samuel Eto’o. If it would have been close to the sea it would have been perfect, but it is an incredible city as it is.”

For Icardi, this is the first chance for him competing on the highest level in Europe. A long-awaited one.
