According to a report from Brazilian news outlet Lance! Santos would like to extend Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa’s loan past it’s current expiry date of December 31.
The Brazilian striker re-joined his boyhood club back in January on a year long loan following a difficult spell at Inter that also involved a failed loan spell to Benfica and the Peixe want him to stay longer.
A permanent return is almost out of the question for now anyway due to the simple fact that the Brazilian outfit are unlikely to be able to meet Inter’s demands for the 21-year-old, who arrived at Inter back in 2016 for €30 million.
Since returning back ‘home,’ Gabigol – who won a gold medal with Brazil during the 2014 Olympics in his homeland – has managed to rekindle the form that lead to Inter forking out all that money for him largely with thanks to the support he has received from Santos boss Cuca.
