Modric Possibility Had Inter Consider Change Of Attacking Plan

As Inter lost out on their dream playmaker in Luka Modric in the summer transfer window, Nerazzurri officials were forced to return to the drawing board to work out how they can deal without one.

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, since Luciano Spalletti arrived on the Inter bench, he wanted a strong player in the middle of the park with plenty character but when Modric became a possibility it put everything in to question.

Once Modric was missed out upon, it forced Spalletti go back to the original plan – which was and is by no means a bad one. The plan is of course that of the one involving Radja Nainggolan, the truest Spalletti-type player out there in the eyes of the Milan based newspaper. Nainggolan was signed to bulk up the midfield and be both a goal scoring threat and one capable of providing that creative spark also.
