Antonio Candreva has spoken on when it looked like he was destined to leave Inter during the summer transfer window amid interest from Monaco and explained his reasoning behind knocking the offer back.
“It seemed like I had to leave but then I decided to stay put. Monaco was an opportunity for me but I did not take it into consideration because I want to and I still have to prove a lot here. I am at a very strong team and there is nothing better than that,” he said in an interview with Sport Mediaset.
Candreva then spoke on breaking his year long goal drought in the match against Bologna.
“The goal brought a lot of joy back for me because as the drought went on it really began to weigh on me. That goal is dedicated to my son, who is coming soon.”
With another three game week awaiting Inter, the Italian international winger then commented on it.
“We know we are strong and that nobody gives us anything on the pitch therefore we need to take the right approach to the games,” he concluded.
