Inter’s Defeat To Parma Feels Like A Distant Memory

Inter’s world has been completely turned on its head since the defeat to Parma three weeks ago, according to Corriere dello Sport.

Federico Dimarco’s late winner on 16 September had left Luciano Spalletti’s side 14th in the Serie A table after four games and on the verge of a full-blown crisis.

However since then the Nerazzurri have picked up five wins on the bounce and are now sitting pretty both in the league and in the Champions League, ahead of Sunday evening’s league match away to SPAL.

“The team that amassed just four points in the first four games of the season has been replaced by a side capable of winning five matches in a row,” the Rome-based publication wrote on Friday.

“In comparison with the 11 straight league wins Spalletti put together while he was at Roma during the 2005-06 season, his task is only half done here, but he had never won more than four games in a row since arriving in Milan last summer.

“As well as setting a new record for his time at Inter, the 2-1 win in Eindhoven also confirmed to him that his side are constantly improving.

“Not everything is perfect yet, but it didn’t feel like the Parma match was two and a half weeks ago on Wednesday night… considering the differences between the two Inter sides, it felt more like two and a half months.”
