Two Inter Players Called Up To Italian National Team By Roberto Mancini: Politano Out

Italy national team manager Roberto Mancini has named 28 players for the upcoming two fixtures against Ukraine on October 10th and Poland on October 14th, the former being a friendly to be played in Genoa and the latter a Nations League fixture away in Chorzow.

The former Inter coach has called up two Nerazzurri players, namely Danilo D’Ambrosio and Roberto Gagliardini whilst somewhat surprisingly omitting Matteo Politano who has had en encouraging start to the season at Inter.

The two biggest surprises in the squad are undoubtedly Sampdoria’s Gianluca Caprari and Toronto FC’s Sebastian Giovinco whilst the rest of the names in the squad are rather expected. The formerly Inter owned Caprari has had a great run recently with the Blucerchiati and is now awarded with a spot with the Azzurri.

Goalkeepers: Cragno, Donnarumma, Perin, Sirigu.

Defenders: Acerbi, Biraghi, Bonucci, Chiellini, Criscito, D’Ambrosio, Emerson, Florenzi, Romagnoli.

Midfielders: Barella, Bernardeschi, Bonaventura, Gagliardini, Jorginho, Pellegrini, Verratti.

Attackers: Giovinco, Berardi, Caprari, Chiesa, Cutrone, Immobile, Insigne, Zaza.
