Argentina national team manager Lionel Scaloni has confirmed that Inter striker Lautaro Martinez will be starting in the international friendly with Iraq tonight.
“The team is confirmed: Sergio Romero, Fabricio Bustos, German Pezzella, Ramiro Funes Mori, Marco Acuna, Leandro Paredes, Maxi Meza , Frano Vázquez, Paulo Dybala, Lautaro Martínez and Rodrigo de Paul,” he said at the press conference ahead of the game.
Scaloni, who has been placed in interim charge of La Seleccion, then admitted that he knows despite Iraq’s low ranking they will not be in for an easy game at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium.
“There are no easy games today in football. Iraq will certainly be a complicated opponent for us but we will try to do things right and we have to play to win, it is the best way to enjoy the next game against Brazil, where I do not know if the same team will play again then.”
