Italian pundit Mario Sconcerti looked at the wider picture of Inter’s 2-0 defeat to Barcelona in his weekly column for Corriere della Sera.

“Inter losing to a normal Barcelona side confirms Inter being a normal team themselves. There is very little left of that legendary Barcelona side and today’s team feels like the Barcelona team pre-Lionel Messi and Pep Guardiola.

“The result in itself counts for very little with thanks to the draw between Tottenham and PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands. Inter can start to think about a potential qualification to the next round, something that seemed quite impossible at the beginning.”
