Sime Vrsaljko has spoken on Inter’s domestic campaign so far with them sitting in second place following the 3-0 win over Lazio earlier in the week.

“The league is open. We got it wrong at the start but we have recovered well now and we can still improve. We are really strong, we can go far,” the Croatian said in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.

“We know we’re strong but it is easy to talk. It is a long season, we will take it one game at a time and see where we end up.

Pushed for comment on where he hopes Inter end up, he added, “I am definitely hoping to play in the Champions League next year and finish in the top three in Serie A.”

He then discussed his adaption at the club following his summer arrival.

“I am very happy because I became an Inter player, then the other things are separate. I am really happy in Italy and with these teammates, we are improving every day and on an individual level too.

“The Croatians in the squad helped me settle, but I am already used to Italian football, so there is nothing majorly new to me.”

He concluded the interview by speaking on Inter’s Champions League campaign.

“In the Champions League we have to get through the group. Then we will see where we end up.”
