Szymon Marciniak To Referee Inter vs Barcelona

The refereeing appointments for the upcoming round of Champions League fixtures have been published by European football’s governing body UEFA and it sees Szymon Marciniak appointed to referee Inter’s group stage game with Barcelona on Tuesday night.

The 37-year-old Polish referee will be assisted at San Siro by Pawel Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz while Radoslaw Siejka will serve as the fourth official. Pawel Raczkowski and Tomasz Musial will meanwhile fulfil the role of the additional assistant referees.

Szymon Marciniak is one of UEFA’s top officials and was in charge of the UEFA Super Cup earlier this season between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. Including this game, he has refereed a total of 19 games this season, dishing out 83 yellow cards, nine red cards and awarded six penalties too. Marciniak was also one of the officials at the World Cup in Russia during the summer where he refereed two group stage games.
