Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is moving another step closer to becoming a part of Inter’s board of directors according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Marotta is currently in Nanjing, China holding talks with Suning owner Jindong Zhang and Inter president Steven Zhang to define the details. This is the final step required before Marotta can put pen-to-paper and begin his Inter adventure, something that is expected to happen very soon.

The report from the Milan based newspaper states that Marotta will serve in the role of chief executive and deal with sporting matters while current chief executive Alessandro Antonello will remain in the position but now only deal with administrative matters.

Marotta was one of the masterminds behind Juventus’ recent unprecedented success in Italy which has seen them win the past seven Serie A titles. Various reports doing the rounds report that Inter are heavily relying on Marotta to take them back to the top.
