Antognoni Gives His Thoughts On Inter Linked Barella, Tonali, Sensi & Pellegrini

Former Fiorentina and Italy midfielder Giancarlo Antognoni has spoken on Inter transfer targets Nicolo Barella, Sandro Tonali, Stefano Sensi and Lorenzo Pellegrini.

“Barella was already a leader in the various Under 15 and Under 16 national teams. He has quality, dynamism and in short, he is a complete mezzala. He made the right choice by staying at Cagliari playing with continuity is completing his maturation period. In a few months he will be one of the most wanted on the transfer market,” he said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I would say that Tonali is a miniature Pirlo. He has all the characteristics to become a great regista, he has great vision which allows him to easily change what’s going on. I would suggest that he stays in Italy. Our league is challenging and it requires a young person to grow up quickly, there is time to go abroad later and he is ready for the first big jump in his career.”

Antognoni proceeded to speak on Sassuolo midfielder Sensi and Roma’s Pellegrini.

“Sensi is very mature tactically. He is able to give order to play, he looks a little like Verratti and he still has great room for growth.

“Pellegrini is more than a talent, I would say that he is now one of the best in Italian football. At Roma he has played as a playmaker and played in front of the defence, but his true role is as a mezzala. I would say that Pellegrini is the one in which I see myself most in.”
