Piero Ausilio spoke during the award ceremony where he was recognised as the best sporting director of 2018, organised by Sciumé, lawyers and accountants.
“It’s been a very difficult four years, not least due to the Financial Fair Play because we did not want lose being a registered club with Uefa.
“The principle is simple, you have to spend what you earn. We have passed these four years that have been hard, with many sacrifices. They did not make our fans happy because the goal for us is to win, but we have won the battle to guarantee continuity: Inter won the Triplete in 2010 and won an Italian Cup in 2011, after that we had to try to start again.
“Today I can proudly say that we have got a project, solid structure and an ambitious owner, despite them being based in China. We have a president who lives with us in Italy every day and has structured the club as a top European club, not least with the arrival of Beppe Marotta. There is not only the sport but a management that takes care of all the other factors. We are a group of people who want to bring back Inter to where they deserve to be, and we hope to return to the successes as soon as possible.”
