Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta spoke with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport on the sidelines of Inter’s Christmas dinner.
“I am in my natural habitat. I am in a club made up of very strong people and my inclusion is going in the best way possible,” he said.
He then went on to speak about Mauro Icardi’s contract renewal situation.
“Piero Ausilio told me that in the last few months an offer was presented to the player although it was not considered adequate. The time has come to meet again, but I believe that such negotiations should be carried out in the right places and in a certain manner. We are talking about a very important player, the captain, so I think we can reach a positive conclusion given the mutual will to continue together. There are many contracts to be reviewed at a club, usually it’s done in January and it will be like that in Inter too. The team is made up of many players and we will see the dynamics.”
Marotta also commented on Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara’s recent comments.
“A little silence would do us all good.”
He concluded by saying what he hopes to bring to Inter and achieve.
“A great desire to do well and a great passion. I hope we can achieve important milestones with everyone involved at the club.”
