Luciano Spalletti addressed Inter’s youth teams last night as they had their Christmas dinner last night and firstly thanked the youth team staff for the role they play.

“I would like to thank the Elite Academy staff for the quality players they are bringing through to the first team. In order to train in the way you should you need a sufficient number of players, and it is important that they have quality too. The lads who join in with us allow us to have the numbers needed to do well.

“I would like to offer my sincerest thanks because without you it would have been impossible to achieve the results we have achieved. You need to be talented to be a part of an Elite Academy like ours. However, this talent needs to be safeguarded and cultivated, thus helping you to grow and become men. Because to be a champion, you need to be a man.”
