Inter have reignited previous interest in Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian according to a report from La Stampa as they look to reinforce the defence.
The Nerazzurri courted the Italian international during the summer transfer window before setting their sights on Sime Vrsaljko, who they would then sign on loan with an option to buy from Atletico Madrid.
Darmian is out of contract with the Red Devils at the end of the season but they do have an option to extend his deal for a further season.
As per La Stampa’s report, Inter are not alone in keeping tabs on the 29-year-old, who has previous experience in Serie A with both Palermo and Torino with Lazio also understood to be interested in bolstering their squad with his addition.
This season Darmian has saw very limited use with just four appearances across all competitions to date which has only increased speculation that his future lies away from Old Trafford.
