Davide Lippi, the agent of Inter winger Matteo Politano, has spoken on his client’s start to life in Nerazzurri so far with his debut season at San Siro at its halfway point.

“Napoli was really close to signing him a year ago but Sassuolo was not interested. In June, Inter joined the race and Matteo chose to join the Nerazzurri. It is a story that immediately took shape and we are very happy with how things are going,” Lippi revealed in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian international joined Inter on loan from fellow Serie A side Sassuolo in the summer transfer window with Inter having an option to turn the move permanent at the end of the season for around €20 million.

The 25-year-old has made 25 appearances this season for the Nerazzurri across all competitions and has scored two goals and tallied four assists in 1760 minutes of action.
