Former Inter and Milan striker Aldo Serena has discussed the situations of both his former clubs current star strikers, Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain.

“Icardi is fundamental for Inter, who is focusing a lot on him, and if he or Higuain want to leave, we do not have to keep them or the two of them could remain and be unhappy,” Serena remarked in an interview with Corriere della Sera.

Serena proceeded to look at the current state of Inter’s attack in more detail.

“Inter has no other solutions [to Icardi] for the attack. Therefore, the whole structure should be revolutionised. Lautaro is a strong player but if Mauro is to go away, he would have to have a partner.”

Serena concluded the interview by revealing what he thinks will happen with Icardi in the end and the reason why.

“I do not think that Inter will deprive Mauro because they have ambition.”
