Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta has moved in an attempt to give Inter an advantage in the race to sign Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian in the Summer as per a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Juventus have tried and failed in recent days to land the Italian full back in the past few days while Valencia and Fiorentina have also shown an interest in signing the former Torino player.
Darmian’s current contract is up with the Red Devils at the end of the season and with doubts about Sime Vrsaljko’s fitness due to him dealing with several injuries since arriving, Inter could focus on Darmian to succeed the Croatian – who Inter still need to make a decision on with regards to whether they will take up the redemption option or not.
The 29-year-old has saw his playing time extremely limited this season and has made just six appearances across all competitions.
