All that is missing for Mauro Icardi’s contract renewal with Inter is the official announcement, at least according to Sport Mediaset.

As per their report, Icardi has agreed to a new deal that runs through to the end of the 2022/23 season worth €7 million plus bonuses to him per season.

The 25-year-old striker’s current release clause will also be raised in the new deal rather than removed as some reports have suggested in recent weeks.

His current release clause is €110 million and valid only to foreign clubs in the opening fortnight of July. His wife/agent Wanda Icardi gave Inter are range of €150-200 million and the parties have agreed upon a new clause of €180 million.

Icardi has been with Inter since 2013 and has been a prolific scorer, scoring over 100 goals in just over 200 appearances for the club. This season he has scored 14 goals and tallied three assists in 24 appearances across all competitions.
