It is a three-way race between Inter, Napoli and Manchester United to sign Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella according to a report from Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Napoli have already tried to move for the 22-year-old but have been knocked back due to the fact the Italian international wishes to see out the remainder of the season with the Sardinian outfit.
Despite the Partenopei’s recent attempt for the €50 million rated youngster, the race still remains very much open between the three sides, the report stresses.
Barella is a product of the Cagliari youth academy and is on the verge of making his 100th appearance for the club since debuting at the end of the 2014/15 season.
This season the 22-year-old has been a mainstay in the Rossoblu team making 22 appearances across all competitions. In 1953 minutes of action, Barella has contributed one goal and contributed as many assists in the process.
