Inter Midfielder Gagliardini: “I Was Convinced That I’d Score, Important For Us To Win”

Roberto Gagliardini shared his delight with Inter’s 2-0 victory over SPAL this afternoon in which he scored the second goal for the Nerazzurri.

“I was convinced that I would score today, I will take the ball home with me and I think it will be the first ball that my son touches. I am happy with the result,” he revealed to Inter TV.

“It was important for us to win after a difficult period for both the team and me personally so I therefore cannot help but be happy with the performance and the three points.

He then spoke on Inter’s match with Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday.

“Thursday’s match against Eintracht will be crucial. Unfortunately I will not be able help my teammates , but I’m sure that this match can be won. We want to get to the final of the Europa League. The players who take to the field on Thursday will be the right men to get the win which is a must for us.”

He concluded the interview: “To play for Inter, character is essential and we have shown it, even if we have had some negative moments this season. There are still three months left and they will be very important, on two fronts. We will put in maximum effort to achieve our goals.”
