Corriere della Sera believe that Inter and Milan risk pricing some of their fans out of games if they build a new stadium with a reduced capacity to that of San Siro.
As per various reports, the two clubs are headed toward building a new stadium that would have a capacity of 60,000, roughly 20,000 less than what the current San Siro holds.
Limiting the capacity of the ground to 60,000 would obviously result in a loss of earnings compared to what they could earn at San Siro, particularly when it comes to bigger games.
The two clubs have taken this into account and this could lead to an increase in ticket prices and season ticket prices to counteract any potential revenue loss.
Inter and Milan would not be the only clubs to do this as this is a trend that has developed in recent years in the newly built stadiums in Europe, including at Juventus’ Allianz Stadium.
The Milan based newspaper conclude that the raising of prices could stop fans with less economic possibilities from attending.
