Del Neri Discusses Inter Linked de Paul: “He Is A More Complete Player, He Reminds Me Of Callejon”

Former Udinese manager Gigi Del Neri has spoken on Rodrigo de Paul, amidst continued media speculation that the Argentine is on the verge of joining Inter.

“Rodrigo has very important qualities. In recent years he has played in many different roles so he is a more complete player. His first appearances for the Argentine national team have also helped him,” he told Tuttosport.

“He still sometimes takes too long on the ball and at first this caused me some anger but this is typical of players with his class.

Del Neri was then asked which other Serie A player he would compare de Paul to.

“He reminds me of Jose Callejon. He is good on the ball and has excellent movement that has really improved in recent years.”

He concluded by being asked how de Paul compared to some of the other number 10’s he has has managed throughout his career.

“I have had the honour of coaching the likes of Totti and Del Piero but de Paul has to only think about improving to be the best de Paul possible.

“If we really want to make a juxtaposition, even if in this case we are talking about different characteristics, then let’s do it with Di Natale who also wore number 10 and was able to leave a big mark in Udine.”
