Further to his recent comments, Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has reaffirmed his desire to remain with the Spanish club.

The Croatian midfielder has drawn strong links to Inter lately and has a contract with the Blaugrana through to the end of the 2020/21 season.

“I have never felt so good, I am going through the best moment of my career,” he told the gathered media at the press conference ahead of Barcelona’s Champions League semi-final first leg with Liverpool tomorrow.

“The World Cup really did me good, I hope to continue like this for a long time.

“The future? My desire is to stay at Barcelona. You can also ask the coach. I also talked to the president about it. Here I feel strongly supported by the fans, I still have a three years left on my contract, I am both happy and peaceful.”

This season he has made 49 appearances across all competitions. In nearly 4000 minutes on the field, he has scored five and assisted nine.
