Inter Manager Spalletti’s Brother Was Fundamental In His Life

Gazzetta dello Sport have dedicated an article to Inter manager Luciano Spalletti and his relationship with brother Marcello, who passed away following a battle with illness in recent days.

“Luciano and Marcello were very close, inseparable in fact. Marcello had always been a fundamental point of reference in the life of Luciano, in youth as in adulthood,” the report begins.

“A brother, but also a friend and a person to whom to trust dreams and projects with. Spalletti entrusted him with the management of the family estate in Montaione.

“Marcello’s illness forced the coach to work overtime in the last period, in order to spend as much time as possible beside his brother. And the news of the illness – of which few were aware of given the delicacy of the situation and the confidentiality of Spalletti – makes the sports enterprise that Luciano managed to accomplish even more important.

“Luciano went to and from Milan several times as soon as training ended and reappeared the following day at training because the most important game of all was being played in Tuscany, where he gave his best to support Marcello until the end.”
