Former Inter manager Jose Mourinho has reflected on his arrival at Inter which he believes came at the ‘perfect time’ for him.

The Portuguese manager, who has been out of work since the end of last year having been sacked by Manchester United, won five trophies in his two years at the club, including a historic treble.

“I have had an incomparable experience from a professional point of view,” he began an interview with broadcaster DAZN.

“The decision to go to Serie A was the perfect time in my career as I had always wanted to measure myself against Italian tactics and good coaches.

“I wanted and I had to go there,” he continued.”

“It was a challenge for me also in terms of thinking more methodically. I arrived in Italy with a different mode of approaching training sessions. I arrived in Italy and I ended up winning the treble with Inter, it was a fantastic experience.”
