Legendary Inter captain and current Vice-President, Javier Zanetti, was a guest on Spanish speaking broadcaster Univision Deportes ahead of the Champions League final this Saturday.
The former Nerazzurri Champions League winning captain from 2010, was asked to explain how it felt to play the final and to raise the trophy into the air.
“You can’t wait as a player to play that match, to live through that moment, to see all the people who go to help with the match. And the uncertainty during the 90 minutes, or maybe even the 120 minutes and then penalties, to raise the trophy into the air and remain in the history of a club.”
“For me, raising that trophy was a privilege, not just because I was the captain but also because Inter had not won that title for 45 years. And that is something that will remain in us forever.”
