No Space For Icardi In Conte’s Inter

Antonio Conte has decided that there is no place for Mauro Icardi in his Inter plans according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The incoming Inter boss has already communicated his decision to the club, where only the official announcement is lacking before he is officially the manager.

“It is not a question of technical qualities but rather morality. Conte does not compromise, he has never done it and he has no intention of questioning his certainties right now when he is about to face the most difficult – but perhaps the most fascinating – challenge of his career: to try to oust Juventus from the throne of Italy,” the report explains.

“His Inter will have to represent him in everything: they will have to be hungry, have a desire to sacrifice themselves, desire to win and must be a cohesive group from the first day.”

It is now up to Inter’s management team to find a new home for the Argentine striker as soon as possible. The report states that Inter would be satisfied to sell for a fee in the region of €70-80 million.

Juventus have shown an interest in him as have Atletico Madrid but there are ultimately few clubs out there who can meet Inter’s demands for the 26-year-old.

Edin Dzeko will almost certainly come in upon Icardi’s exit as will another big striker.
