Inter have released a statement confirming that the club has sacked manager Luciano Spalletti.
The Nerazzurri released a statement on the club’s official homepage confirming that the former Nerazzurri coach has been relieved of his duties.
The statement made no reference to who the next coach will be but it has widely been reported that former Juventus and Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will take over from Spalletti.
The statement read “FC Internazionale Milano can confirm that Luciano Spalletti is no longer Head Coach of the First Team.”
”The Club wishes to thank Spalletti for his work and the results achieved together.”
The former Roma manager took charge of Inter ahead of the 2017/2018 season and managed to lead the Nerazzurri to two 4th place finishes in the Serie A, leading the team to back to back Champions League qualification for the first time since 2011.
Ahead of this season Spalletti signed a contract extension with Inter which would see him remain with the club until the end of June 2021.
