Gazzetta dello Sport have listed the 10 main reasons which pushed Inter toward pushing for Antonio Conte to become their next manager.

Conte is expected to be officially announced as the club’s manager following the sacking of now former manager Luciano Spalletti this morning.

1. Ideal for the growth phase – Conte is considered a winning manager but not only that. Conte is considered as the ideal man both for cutting the gap with Juventus and the phase after that.

2. The dressing room will change – The dressing room dynamics of the team last season were not liked and undoubtedly played a part in Inter’s struggles. Inter are looking for a man capable of breaking certain balances and Conte is that man.

3. He knows how to increase the value of the team – Conte has managed dressing rooms with great players before and therefore knows how to deal with them. He is able to increase the value of the player son the team and his time with the national team shows this.

4. His communication – Conte has a prerogative that Inter considers fundamental: he is linear from a communicative point of view. To put it another way, he is “organic” to the club, without temptation to follow alternative and strenuous paths.

5. He is the man of the Marotta project – Conte has proven he can be trusted by Marotta in the past. Marotta already knows all about his strengths and weaknesses.

6. Already chased by Zhang – No introduction to the Zhang family was needed. Inter chased Conte two years ago before appointing Spalletti.

7. He’s internationally recognised – Conte is known worldwide and has had success both abroad and in Italy.

8. He wants revenge against Juventus – The pursuit of Juventus is a complicated journey but if there is a man with the right motivations to take some revenge against the Juventus club, it is Conte.

9. He knows how to excite the crowd. Conte is pure electricity, also for how he expresses himself during the matches on the sidelines. He knows how to multiply the energy of a crowd that this past season averaged 61.444 per match at the San Siro

10. Conte’s Juventus past? It is a stimulus, not an obstacle. Marcello Lippi had a poor spell at Inter immediately after managing Juventus as he attempted to change things, just like Conte wants to change things for himself also.
