Inter target Romelu Lukaku is prepared to reduce his wages in order to secure a summer move to the Nerazzurri, according to Tuttosport.
Lukaku, 26, is thought to be a key transfer target for the Nerazzurri’s new head coach Antonio Conte, who was announced as Luciano Spalletti’s replacement on Friday morning.
The Belgian forward currently earns €12 million per season at Manchester United but would be happy to drop to €8 million to join Inter.
Manchester United would like €80 million to part company with Lukaku in order to ensure they don’t make a net loss, but Inter do not wish to spend that much as they would prefer to make their big investment on Federico Chiesa.
“Lukaku is now managed by Federico Pastorello, who is very close to Conte and has a great relationship with Inter,” Tuttosport reported today.
“The ingredients to secure a deal are all there, not least because Lukaku is willing to reduce his wages.
“€8 million remains a lot of money but Inter know they will have to increase their wage bill if they wish to compete with Juventus.”
Inter are also pursuing Roma striker Edin Dzeko, with whom they have already discussed personal terms, and will look to agree a fee with the Giallorossi in the coming weeks.
