Inter will aim to sell outgoing striker Mauro Icardi before the start of preseason training in July, according to Tuttosport.

The Nerazzurri unveiled Antonio Conte as their new head coach on Friday morning and would prefer to move Icardi on before the Italian started work with his new squad ahead of next season.

Juventus are the only club known to be interested in signing Icardi at present and unlike Inter have no hurry to reach an agreement for the player.

Icardi remains keen on the idea of staying at Inter and does not want to move to the Premier League.

“Inter need to get on with trying to sell Icardi because it will become a more difficult problem to handle with each day that passes,” Tuttosport said.

“They won’t sell him on the cheap just to ensure he’s gone by the start of July, but it’s clear they wouldn’t have a strong bargaining hand if Icardi were still at the club then.”

Conte does not consider Icardi to be part of his plans moving forward and would prefer not to have him around when preseason training begins.

Icardi wants to sound out the possibility of securing a contract extension before leaving but it is highly unlikely Inter will offer one.
