Inter legend Diego Milito has shared his hopes for Inter for next season with Antonio Conte now in charge.
Speaking to Sky Sport in Madrid ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League final, the striker firstly recalled Inter’s triumph back in 2010.
“Being here in Madrid again where we achieved our dream is always emotional. Nine years have passed but this emotion is forever lasting.”
The Argentine then shared his hopes for Conte’s debut campaign in charge.
“As an Interista, I want him to have a great season. He is a great coach and will bring his mentality to this club. I hope that he can have a great season.”
He progressed by speaking on compatriot Mauro Icardi who is widely expected to leave this Summer.
“This is a matter for Inter and Conte who will solve it in the best way possible. I don’t know what will happen with Mauro, Inter will solve this. But the most important things, as I have always said, are Inter and the shirt of this club.”
He concluded by refusing to draw comparisons between Conte and his manager at Inter, Jose Mourinho.
“I did not have the chance to work with Conte. I can talk about Jose who will always remain the number one for all Interisti and for me.
“I don’t like comparisons, every coach always has his methodology and mentality. But Jose, like everyone in that team, will always remain in the history of Inter.”
