Mauro Icardi wants to to hold talks with Inter president Steven Zhang in a last-ditch attempt to save his career with the Nerazzurri, according to Tuttosport.
The forward hopes he can persuade Zhang to give him another chance at the club after being stripped of the captaincy last season, but it is almost impossible he will succeed.
Inter’s management have already decided to sell Icardi while senior members of the dressing room have also confirmed they want him out.
“Icardi isn’t resigned to his fate yet and wants to try everything he can to stay at Inter,” Tuttosport reported this morning.
“It’s unthinkable though that Zhang could depart from what has become a very clear line from the club regarding his future.”
Antonio Conte has no plans for Icardi in his side next season and wants to start the new campaign with Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku up front.
Beppe Marotta is expected to confirm this to Icardi’s wife and agent Wanda Nara if and when they meet for talks this week.
