Inter have sensationally offered Mauro Icardi to Roma and requested a swap deal with the club’s former midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo, according to La Repubblica.

The Nerazzurri are desperately searching for a club who can take Icardi off their hands after deciding the forward no longer formed part of their plans for next season.

Zaniolo joined Roma last summer as part of the deal that brought Radja Nainggolan to Inter but his value has increased tenfold since that transfer.

“Conte does not even want to see Icardi when he turns up at preseason training,” La Repubblica reported.

“Icardi has been offered to Roma and Napoli and Inter would only need a swap deal to record a healthy capital gain for their financial records before 30 June.

“The striker only has one idea in his head though, and that’s Juventus.

“Icardi has promised himself to the Bianconeri and is prepared to put his foot down in order to move there.”
