Beppe Marotta: “It’s Premature To Say What Inter’s Squad Will Look Like In Preseason”

Beppe Marotta told reporters today it was ‘premature’ to say what Inter’s squad will look like when the Nerazzurri begin preseason training on 8 July.

Marotta joined fellow chief executive Alessandro Antonello in presenting Inter’s training camp in Lugano, holding a press conference on behalf of the club in the Swiss city.

The 62-year-old said the city represented sporting excellence before describing it as one of Europe’s ‘jewels in the crown’.

“Lugano is a city that’s known around the world and I personally know it well having grown up in Varese,” Marotta said.

“Holding our preseason there will help their team gain further European prestige following Inter’s consecutive qualifications for the Champions League.

“They’re a club that’s growing and we’re happy to be by their side. We’ll aim to grasp any opportunity to collaborate with them moving forward.”

Marotta then dodged the question relating to Inter’s transfer plans, although the club is known to be closing in on deals for Nicolo Barella, Valentino Lazaro and Edin Dzeko.
