Suning have drawn up a three-point plan to change Inter for the better in the long term, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Chinese consortium have modernised the club both on and off the pitch since buying a majority stake from Erick Thohir in 2016.
Suning now plan to renew Inter’s image further by building a new stadium, securing a new shirt sponsor and signing a ‘top player’ during this summer’s transfer window.
President Steven Zhang also intends to spend more time in Milan and will make more public appearances, with the ultimate aim of securing a leading role in the European Club Association.
Inter and Milan have nearly finished discussing the smaller details of their plan to revamp San Siro and will present it to the city council before next month’s preseason tours.
The Nerazzurri will end their long-standing partnership with Pirelli as the club’s main shirt sponsor, as they look to increase their annual turnover from €350 million to €400 million.
And the club would also like to replace Mauro Icardi as Inter’s poster boy, ideally with a player who is more recognisable and marketable than the ex-captain.
Zhang wants a more central role in day-to-day life and is learning Italian in a bid to make this happen.
Inter moved into their new club offices in one of Milan’s busiest business districts this week, which Suning hope will become a reference point for all their partners around the world – not just of a sporting nature.
