Danilo D’Ambrosio wants to renew his contract with Inter and win a trophy under new boss Antonio Conte, the player’s agent told Radio Sportiva yesterday.
The defender is thought to be close to agreeing a new deal with the Nerazzurri which would tie him to the club until 2021.
Vincenzo Pisacane assured D’Ambrosio has always wanted to stay at Inter and is looking forward to life under Conte.
“Conte is an incredible coach and could be the right person to take Inter back to winning ways,” Pisacane said.
“Danilo has been at Inter for five years and now he would like to try and win something too.”
D’Ambrosio arguably enjoyed his greatest season since joining Inter during the 2018-19 campaign, scoring twice and providing five assists in 38 appearances.
The defender played a key role in securing Champions League qualification for the new season, saving victories against Milan and Empoli with last-minute goal-line clearances.
It remains to be see whether new Conte intends to use D’Ambrosio as a wing-back or at centre-back in a three-man defence.
