Inter’s rapid season ticket sales ahead of the 2019-20 season are down to the ‘Antonio Conte effect’, Corriere dello Sport argued today.
The Nerazzurri have almost sold out their 40,000 available tickets for the new campaign with more than two months until Serie A starts.
Supporters snapped up every ticket last season as well, but Inter had to wait until the end of July on that occasion.
“It’s hard to find another explanation for the number of renewals,” the paper said.
“Besides Diego Godin, whose arrival has not even been announced yet, Inter have not made any big signings, although Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio do have some up their sleeve.
“This proves it’s Conte who has whipped up excitement among the Inter fans.”
Inter have topped Serie A’s attendance charts for each of the last six seasons and welcomed 1,105,547 people through their gates in the 2018-19 campaign.
Their average attendance at San Siro last year was 61,419, despite having to play one match – against Sassuolo – behind closed doors.
