Inter’s Ausilio Flying To Manchester Tonight For Romelu Lukaku Talks

Piero Ausilio is flying to Manchester tonight to hold fresh talks about Romelu Lukaku, according to Sky Sport.

Inter want to sign the Belgian as quickly as possible so Antonio Conte can get to work with his no. 1 transfer target during preseason.

Manchester United are unlikely to accept anything other than a permanent deal, meaning Ausilio will have to find a creative way to structure any eventual deal.

The Nerazzurri are taking heart from the fact United are open to selling, though, as well as the agreement they already have with the player.

Beppe Marotta is still in Lugano with Conte and the first team as they continue training, so Inter’s sporting director will be negotiating with United alone.

Conte oversaw day three of the Nerazzurri’s Swiss camp on Wednesday, as Inter build up to their first friendly match with Lugano at the weekend.

Matteo Politano is the only first-team forward available for the former Juventus and Chelsea boss at present, though, given the difficulty of signing Lukaku and the stall in talks with Roma for Edin Dzeko.

Lautaro Martinez will not turn up until the end of July following his participation in the Copa America, while Mauro Icardi is deemed surplus to requirements.
