Matteo Politano is unlikely to feature in Inter’s first preseason friendly against Lugano on Sunday, after the forward picked up a thigh strain in training.
Inter tweeted on Thursday to confirm Politano had undergone medical tests at the Istituto Humanitas in Rozzano.
The scans revealed a strain to the flexors in his right thigh, meaning his condition will need to be monitored on a daily basis.
Antonio Conte does not have any other first-team forwards available yet, so this could represent a serious inconvenience for the rest of the week.
