Juventus and Manchester United continued their talks today over a swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala, according to Sky Sport.
Inter want to sign Lukaku for Antonio Conte but time is running out for the Nerazzurri, who cannot submit an improved bid until they have sold Mauro Icardi.
Juve value Dybala at €100 million and would therefore United to pay a small additional fee as part of the deal, given Lukaku is only worth €83 million.
Dybala could scupper the deal by rejecting a move to Old Trafford, though, as he does not currently want to move from Turin.
The forward will cut his holidays short this week and return to Juve’s preseason training earlier than expected, so he can meet Maurizio Sarri and discuss his plans for Dybala.
Lukaku is a completely different striker to Dybala but it is thought he might play better alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, who Sarri wants to play on the left-hand side of a 4-3-3.
Inter can do relatively little to stop Juve and United moving towards a deal, as Financial Fair Play prevents them from raising their last offer.
Conte has no choice but to hope the clubs fail to reach an agreement, or that Dybala puts his foot down and rejects United’s advances.
