Mauro Icardi would be indirectly pushed towards joining Napoli if Juventus completed a deal to sign Romelu Lukaku, according to Sky Sport.
Maurito has reportedly been waiting on a move to the Bianconeri after Inter ruled him out of their plans for this season.
However, Lukaku’s arrival in Turin would end his hopes of joining the Italian champions, forcing him to consider other destinations.
Napoli are still interested in Icardi and could step up their pursuit of Inter’s former captain, should Juve withdraw from the race.
Icardi has trained alone at Appiano Gentile for the last two weeks as Antonio Conte’s side completed their tour of Asia.
He will be reunited with his teammates tomorrow morning, though, when Inter resume their preseason preparations at Appiano Gentile.
Conte’s side play Tottenham in their penultimate friendly on Sunday and it appears likely Icardi will again be excluded from that match.
The Nerazzurri will have Lautaro Martinez available again from Wednesday morning, after El Toro finished his summer holidays over the weekend.
