Sassuolo’s chief executive officer Giovanni Carnevali last night said he was ‘happy’ about Stefano Sensi’s positive start at Inter.
Sensi was one of the most impressive performers during the Nerazzurri’s preseason tour in Asia, starting all three of Antonio Conte’s prestige friendlies.
The 23-year-old has joined on loan with an option to buy and is staking a strong claim to start on Serie A’s opening weekend against Lecce.
“I was told Sensi was one of the players who’d played better for Inter,” Carnevali told reporters after the fixture ceremony on Monday.
“We’re happy for him and for Inter. We know Sensi is a great player.”
Sensi scored two goals and created four assists for Sassuolo last season as Roberto De Zerbi’s side finished 11th in Serie A.
His performances with the Neroverdi were enough to earn him his debut with Italy last November, starting in a 1-0 friendly win against the United States.
