Juventus have told Romelu Lukaku they will guarantee him the same salary he would have stood to earn at Inter, according to FcInterNews.it.
The Bianconeri have announced their intention to give the Belgian a five-year deal worth €7.5 million net annually plus bonuses.
Lukaku is still waiting for signs from Inter, who were and still are his first choice if he leaves Manchester United, but the Nerazzurri have not found an agreement with Ed Woodward.
United are not convinced by Inter’s most recent offer of €70 million plus bonuses and now seem more inclined to give the forward to Juve.
Fabio Paratici wants to arrange a deal which sees Paulo Dybala join United and Lukaku move to Turin with an additional €20 million fee.
If the Red Devils agreed to such an idea, talks would begin seriously and what was an opportunistic move to thwart Inter would become a very real set of negotiations.
Lukaku wants to join up with Antonio Conte at Inter, but his priority is to leave the Premier League and he cannot wait for the Nerazzurri forever.
United will sell to whichever club satisfies their demands first, with time running out before the Premier League’s transfer window shuts next Thursday.
Juventus have yet to convince Dybala to leave the club for Old Trafford, which means nothing has been decided yet.
The battle to sign Lukaku could reserve a few more twists and turns yet, but it is certainly becoming ever more difficult to envisage Inter coming out on top.
