Inter’s hopes of resurrecting their bid to sign Romelu Lukaku depend entirely on Paulo Dybala, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Juventus are close to reaching an agreement with Manchester United for a swap deal involving the two players, but La Joya must accept the move to Old Trafford.
Dybala was due to meet Fabio Paratici and Maurizio Sarri tomorrow to discuss his future with the Bianconeri, but Sky Sport have since reported that will happen today instead.
Gazzetta said: “Until a few days ago Dybala was convinced he would stay at Juventus. He could only imagine himself in Turin, or at most with Real Madrid or Barcellona after a return to his old form.
“The Premier League with its physical style of play has never been in his thoughts. Now, however, he feels like he’s been ditched.”
Dybala received a phone call from former Juve and United defender Patrice Evra recently, who shared the Bianconeri’s dressing room with the forward between 2015 and 2017.
Evra is likely to have explained to Dybala why he should be excited about joining United, but he will need several days of reflection before making a decision.
Inter seem powerless to stop Juve and United finalising their sensational swap, with no room to increase their offer unless they sell Mauro Icardi.
Antonio Conte began working with Latuaro Martinez this morning after the forward returned from his summer holidays, but he will need more than El Toro up front to build a competitive side this year.
